Civil Trades was developed by Civil Contractors New Zealand – the national association for the civil construction industry – to give skilled civil tradespeople the recognition they deserve as masters of their craft.
Established in 2015, Civil Trades puts civil construction professionals on the same footing as other recognised tradespeople such as builders, plumbers and electricians, making the career path clear for apprentices and aspiring civil tradespeople. Civil Trades is owned and operated by Civil Contractors New Zealand, with support from Connexis Infrastructure Industry Training Organisation.
Civil Trades is governed by a Civil Trades Board of industry representatives who ensure it meets the needs of industry and candidates. Candidate evaluation is managed by a passionate network of evaluators who ensure candidates meet the right standards, and the Civil Trades Coordinator who is responsible for administering and registering certification.
