The finalists for the 2024 Civil Contractors New Zealand Hirepool Construction Excellence Awards have been announced, with awards to be presented on the big stage during the Hirepool Construction Excellence Awards Dinner at Southland's Bill Richardson Transport Museum on 16 August as part of CCNZ National Conference.
CCNZ Chief Executive Alan Pollard congratulated the finalists on the work they had done to support communities by constructing and maintaining the country’s vital infrastructure, with many of this year's finalists including contractors that had shown excellence in responding to damage caused by severe weather events.
“All this year's finalists should be hugely proud of the hard yards they have put in for the country, and for their local communities. Their efforts have made a massive difference, ensuring our transport networks, ports and airports are open for business, our properties are protected, and our communities have access to electricity and clean water.”
Tickets for the awards dinner are available at the The Civil Contractors Conference website. First awarded in 1978, the CCNZ Hirepool Construction Excellence Awards represent the pinnacle achievements of New Zealand's civil construction industry. Winners are awarded the Toki Paraihe for their work each year at the Hirepool Construction Excellence Awards Dinner, which are held during CCNZ National Conference.
Expert judges tour projects nominated for the awards each year to assess their performance, as well as reviewing comprehensive information provided by entrants. This year, 33 finalists have been announced from more than 50 entries.
