More upgrades for Civil Trades website

26 Nov 2025

Our website has been enhanced once again, with more videos telling the stories of certified civil tradespeople and a new employer portal that makes it easy for companies to manage Civil Trades applications on behalf of their staff members.

Civil Trades Workforce Development Manager Rebecca Fox says the improvements are part of ongoing efforts to ensure Civil Trades is recognised by tradespeople, their employers and clients as “the gold standard” for industry certification.

New videos

Three new ‘faces of Civil Trades’ videos have been added to the Home page, telling the stories of drainage foreman Rafe Bjork, paving foreman Simon Burch and chief executive Jeremy Dixon, including their reasons why they value Civil Trades.

"Whether its about evidence of proficiency, self-confidence, or winning new work, these videos shine a light on the benefits of a trusted and recognised certification scheme for individuals, companies and clients across civil construction,” Rebecca says.

Employer portal

Another recent development on the website is the introduction of a new employer portal that allows permitted company learning and development managers to manage Civil Trades application on behalf of staff.

The portal aims to smooth the process for workers who are time poor by enabling those they trust to assist with some of the paperwork.

“It’s also helpful for employers as it provides a central portal where they can view all certified civil tradespeople associated with their business,” Rebecca says.

Learning and development managers who want to request permission to access and administer their staff applications can do so by emailing the Civil Trades team. Certified civil tradespeople who do not wish for their employer to be able to view or administer their application and certification still retain sovereignty over their information and can remove permissions for their employer to manage their certification on the website’s ‘My Details’ page.

A smoother application process

Last, but not least, the application process for individuals who want to apply for Civil Trades certification has been made easier through an easier-to-use application interface on the website.

The new site provides helpful information about the application process all in one place. The Apply page now features self-explanatory navigation that allows people to create and log in to their account, upload and manage their required paperwork, view the status of their certification, and recertify if required.
