KiwiRail has issued a safety alert about temporary traffic management interfaces with railway level crossings. The alert states that from 21 June, road controlling authorities should not approve Generic Traffic Management Plans if within 100m of the rail corridor. The alert also says a KiwiRail Permit to Enter will also be required by the organisation controlling the work activity and a Rail Protection Officer will need to be appointed in some circumstances.
